Hosted by the NRF National Facilities Library and Information Services on 7 August 2024 as a side event to the IAU 2024 General Assembly taking place in Cape Town, South Africa.

This hybrid event will take a deep look at open access with regards to, interalia, astronomy library and information services, touching on the role of open access in open science and scholarly publishing. 

The event will adopt both an African as well as a global perspective on the practicalities around best practice and the impact of open access on library and information services to researchers in astrophysics.
